Pineapple Banana Agua Fresca is SO good! You guys, you’re going to love this drink.

When it’s hot outside, nothing quenches your thirst like a big glass of this drink … with lots of ice, of course!

Delicious, refreshing, and simply delightful. Make a big batch. It’ll be gone before you know it.

Hand holding fresh pineapple.

  • Cut a pineapple into smaller pieces.
  • Be sure to wash the pineapple before cutting.

Chopping up a pineapple can be a pain.

Save on time and trouble. Instead, buy the pineapple that’s already chopped up and ready to go.

How to tell if a pineapple is ready?

Smell the bottom. It should smell like pineapple. Also look at the outside of the fruit. It should be mostly yellow and very little green.

If you see any darker green areas, it might need more time to ripen.

A metal bowl with freshly diced pineapple.

  • You’re only using half of the pineapple in this recipe.
  • Save some in a container for later or freeze for up to 6 months.

Discard the hard center core and green top. There’s not use for any of those pieces.

Did you know that pineapples are loaded with nutrients and have disease-fighting antioxidants?

All great reasons to eat more pineapple!

How to Make It

  • Add diced pineapple to a blender.
  • Add ripe banana.
  • Pour in the evaporated milk.
  • Pour in the sweetened condensed milk.

Instead of evaporated milk you can use regular milk or half and half.

FYI: This beverage is made with milk and needs refrigeration.
Use a ripe, brown banana. They are sweeter. If you are using a regular yellow banana, it might not be as sweet and will need more sugar.

Is Agua Fresca Good For You?

It really depends on the type of agua fresca you are having. Some are made with fruit and no sugar is added. Those are better for you than others.

If anything, these Mexican drinks provide a source of vitamins and minerals.

  • Blend until smooth.

This will take about 1-2 minutes, depending on your blender.

Unlike most agua frescas, this recipe does not require straining. YAY!

If you want to add alcohol, you can do so now. Traditionally, agua frescas are non-alcoholic. Just like this Blue Lagoon Mocktail (you must try it!)

A water container pouring water into a blender.

  • Add water.
  • Give it all a good stir. Then taste.

Is it sweet enough for you? If needed, add more sweetened condensed milk or sugar.

Pro Tip:

This is a great way to use up ripe bananas! After the bananas have turned brown, freeze them.

Instead of making banana chocolate chip bread or banana bacon pancakes, make this drink instead.

How Long Does It Last?

This drink lasts up to 3 days in the fridge. You might need to stir before serving.

Pineapple Banana Agua Fresca is summertime refreshment at its finest. SO yummy! Pour into a glass with lots of ice and enjoy.
