    Ingredients for Papaya Smoothie

    • ripe papaya
    • coconut milk
    • lime
    • maple syrup
    • fresh ginger
    • ground cinnamon

This recipe makes enough for 2 servings, perfect for sharing or saving for later. You can use fresh or frozen papaya. The riper, the better—it gives a naturally sweet flavor and creamy texture.

    Substitutions

    • Swap out coconut milk for almond milk or regular milk.
    • No lime? Use yellow lemon.
    • Maple syrup is a sweetener that can easily be substituted with sugar, agave syrup, or honey. Taste it. It might not even need a sweetener.
    • If you have no ginger, simply omit.

    👩🏼‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

    • Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients: Make sure your papaya is ripe, soft, and cubed. Peel and chop the ginger. Juice the lime and gather the rest of your ingredients.
    • Step 2: Blend: Add the papaya, coconut milk, lime juice, maple syrup, ginger, and cinnamon to a high-powered blender. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
    • Step 3: Serve or Store: Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy right away for the freshest flavor. If you want to save some for later, store it in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 24 hours. Give it a quick stir before drinking.

Want to turn it into a smoothie bowl? Pour it into a bowl and top with granola, coconut flakes, or fresh fruit for an extra-tropical treat.

    🙋🏻‍♀️ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I use another type of milk?

Yes! Almond milk, oat milk, or regular dairy milk all work well. Coconut milk gives a rich and tropical flavor, but feel free to use what you have on hand.

What if I don’t have fresh papaya?

Frozen papaya is a great alternative and will give the smoothie a thicker texture. Just reduce the amount of added ice or liquid if you’re using frozen chunks.

Is this smoothie good for digestion?

Yes! Papaya contains natural enzymes like papain, which can help with digestion. Ginger also has soothing properties for the stomach.

    Can I skip the sweetener?

Definitely. If your papaya is sweet enough, you might not need any maple syrup at all. Taste and adjust to your liking.
