A collage of four images shows the process of making Halloween-themed marshmallow treats: chocolate squares with coconut, decorating green and white marshmallow pops with sprinkles and candy eyes, and the finished treats on a plate.

    👩🏼‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

    • Arrange the chocolate cookies or brownies in grid on a wooden board to form your monster “game board.”
    • Melt the dark chocolate and use it to fill the spaces between the candies. Sprinkle coconut on top to create a spooky textured surface, then chill for 15 minutes.
    • Melt half of the white chocolate and stir in green food coloring. Insert a toothpick into each marshmallow, then dip halfway into the green chocolate.
    • While the coating is still soft, add candy eyes and a bit of dark chocolate “hair.” Chill until set.
    • Melt the rest of the white chocolate, color it orange, and repeat the process with sprinkles instead of coconut for variety.
    • Arrange your finished monsters on the board and decorate with sugar pumpkins for a festive finishing touch!
    • Tip: You can get creative with your monsters — use purple chocolate, different sprinkles, or even turn them into pops by sticking them on skewers!

    🫙 Storing Instructions

Store leftover Halloween Marshmallow Monsters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If you live in a warm climate, refrigerate them so the chocolate doesn’t melt.

    🙋🏻‍♀️ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I use brownies instead of chocolate wafers?

Yes! Brownies work perfectly and add a rich, chewy base for your monster board.

How can I make these ahead of time?

You can prepare the marshmallow monsters a day ahead and keep them refrigerated. Assemble everything just before serving for the best presentation.

Can I use candy melts instead of chocolate?

Absolutely! Candy melts come in great colors and make the dipping process even easier.

    Ingredients

    • 9 square chocolate wafer cookies or brownies
    • 10 big marshmallows (not mini marshamallows)
    • 20 sugar eyes
    • 3 tablespoon shredded coconut for monsters and board markings
    • 1 dark chocolate bar for hair and to connect wafer candies
    • ¼ cup white chocolate or frosting
    • 2-3 drops food coloring green
    • 2-3 drops food coloring orange
    • 1 tablespoon sprinkles
    • sugar pumpkins for decorating

    Instructions

    • On a wooden board, arrange the square candies in a 3 x 3 square, or square brownies.
    • Melt dark chocolate in the microwave, pour into a piping bag and fill around the candies or brownies.
    • Sprinkle shredded coconut over the melted chocolate.
    • Brush off excess coconut. It’ll look like a game board.
    • Cool the base for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
    • Melt half the white chocolate. Add green food coloring and stir.
    • Insert wooden toothpicks into the marshmallows.
    • Dip five marshmallows one by one halfway into the green chocolate and place in the coconut.
    • Attach the eyes while the chocolate is still wet.
    • Melt the remaining dark chocolate and apply hair. Cool the monsters.
    • For the orange monster, color the chocolate orange and decorate the monsters in the same way, using sprinkles instead of coconut.
    • Divide the monsters on the chocolate the board.
    • Once you're done with the last monster, it's ready to serve!

    Notes

The board can be made from sandwich cookies or square cake pieces.
Instead of a board, place them on a stick and serve as pops.
You can improvise with the monsters. Dip marshmallows in dark or purple chocolate and top with 1 or 3 eyes.
