    Easy Time Tequila Lime

    Published: Apr 30, 2014 · Updated: Nov 7, 2024 by Maggie Unzueta

Cinco de Mayo is coming up. The truth is: Mexicans like any excuse to get together, eat good food, and throw a big party. That’s definitely not a bad thing. I remember being a kid and going to parties. At Americans parties, people hang out for a couple of hours, then they go home. Mexican parties are soooo different. We have an inflatable jumpy, kids running around everywhere, dj playing, food… A LOT OF FOOD… beer (of course) and dancing. Grandmas, aunts, uncles, cousins, the carnicero and his family. Oh, and if you tell us 2pm. We’ll be there around 4pm. Mexicans run on “Mexican time.” Also, we don’t end our parties until 2am or until the neighbors complain. Usually, though, they’re at the party. I’m not exaggerating at all.

    Easy Time Tequila Lime

    Ingredients:
2 shots of Partida Blanco Tequila
    ¼ cup lime juice
    ½ cup simple syrup

    Directions:
Mix everything together with ice. Shake. Shake. Shake. Pour and serve. Enjoy!

    Easy Time Tequila Lime

This year, for Cinco de Mayo, I didn’t want to make another margarita. (ps. My name is Maggie, short for “Magdalena” not “Margarita). Cinco de Mayo falls on a Monday. Boooo! That’s ok. We’ll just have to celebrate this weekend. I will be making Easy Time Tequila Lime for our Cinco de Mayo episode on “Cuentos de Nuestra Comida.” To watch: CLICK HERE

    Simple Syrup

In this pan, I am making simple syrup. It’s one cup white sugar and one cup water. Put to boil. Once the sugar is dissolved as it is here, turn off the heat. Once it is cooled, it is ready to use.

I’m not big on hard liquor. I’m more of a wine drinker, but I can enjoy a good cocktail. In this recipe, I used Partida Blanco Tequila. It is perfect for this drink. It’s light and smooth. Not hard at all for non-tequila drinkers like me. To find out more about Partida Tequila: CLICK HERE

    iFeliz Cinco de Mayo!
Thank you, George Sepich, for helping me come up with the name for this cocktail.

Disclosure: I received a sample of Partida Blanco Tequila for editorial consideration, but all opinions are my own.
