Spicy 3-Ingredient Jalapeno Spread

You know when you crave party food, but you don’t want to go out? Yeah that! I’m all partied out after my wedding and move. Right now, I feel like chillaxing at home, en mi casita, in my yoga pants. I was checking out some recipes on Pinterest the other day, and I suddenly had the urge to put a spin on my pantry staples. The grocery store is only a couple of blocks away. So, I popped over to buy the necessary ingredients to make this yummy Spicy 3-Ingredient Jalapeño Spread.

Albertsons fridges hall

The original recipe asked for TWO ingredients. But, Maggie here, the good Mexican, needs something spicy, algo picante. However, I know my husband and my son. They can’t handle spice like I can. If you can’t handle the heat like my two guys, eat something dairy. The cream cheese in this Spicy 3-Ingredient Jalapeño Spread seriously cuts the heat.

Sliced Jalapenos

In my version of this recipe, you get a little jalapeño action, the sweetness from the strawberry jam, and the creaminess of the cream cheese. Delicious, right? And easy! I’m trying to introduce my son to my Mexican flavors, the flavors my mom taught me, and my grandma taught her. This Spicy 3-Ingredient Jalapeño Spread is a great introduction dish into chile, and it teaches my son to think outside the recipe box. Food is all about being creative. This recipe is a such a crowd pleaser too, and totally affordable. An inexpensive dish that’s enjoyable for the whole family and perfect for my nights in yoga pants. 😀

Hi Maggie! This looks scrumptious! I’m not always a fan of the brand of hot that comes from jalepenos so I’m thinking of subbing roasted green chile instead! Green chiles are abundant in my neck of the woods. Thoughts? 😉
