A Tostada is like the blank canvas of the Mexican culinary world—it’s a crispy, fried corn tortilla that’s just waiting to be dressed up. Tostada’s cool cousin (from the trendy side of the family) is a tostaguac. It’s a variation of a Tostada but with guacamole and various toppings.
Think of a chalupa as a tostada but with curves—a puffed-up, boat-like tortilla. Meanwhile, the tostada is a flat crisp corn tortilla, cool, and straightforward. One’s a yacht, the other’s a surfboard! 🚢🏄♀️
