Tacos de Camaron (Shrimp Tacos) – Take a bite, and it’ll be hard to stop at just one.

This has to be one of my favorite recipes ever!

    So fresh and so flavorful.

Ready in under 30 minutes for a lightning fast weeknight meal.

    Ingredients

The ingredients needed to make Tacos de Camaron on a wooden surface and labeled.
    • Shrimp – Large size shrimp is what you see in the picture. Or use jumbo shrimp.
    • Onion and Garlic – or use 1 tbsp onion powder and 1 tbsp garlic powder.
    • Oregano is citrusy and robust in flavor.
    • Paprika is smokey and mildly sweet.
    • Cumin is earthy and warm.
    • Chile de Arbol is spicy. Omit if you are not into spicy food. Or use chili powder.
    • Olive Oil or swap out for vegetable oil.
    • Salt and Black Pepper

For a little more heat, add 1 tsp ground chipotle chili.

You’ll also need corn tortillas to assemble the tacos.

    Instructions

    Raw shrimp coated in spices.
    • Rinse the shrimp and pat dry with a paper towel.
    • Coat the shrimp with the spices in a small bowl.
    • Toss to cover completely.

You can also use medium shrimp, but larger is better. That way you bite into a juicy shrimp.

Save yourself the trouble of having to devein the shrimp. They cost more, but isn’t your time worth it? YES!

A collage showing how to cook the shrimp in a large skillet.
    • Heat the oil in a large skillet and add the shrimp.
    • Cook for 1 minute and add the garlic and onion.

The beauty of shrimp is that they cook in just a few minutes.

Don’t confuse these with Tacos Gobernador. They consist of cheesy shrimp tacos with roasted poblano peppers and require more time cooking.

Cooked shrimp topped with cilantro in a black skillet.
    • Once cooked, top with chopped cilantro.
    • Warm up the tortillas.
    • Add some shrimp to a warm corn tortilla to make your seafood tacos.

Tacos are typically made with corn tortillas, but you can also make them with flour tortillas.

Next time you’re celebrating Taco Tuesday or need to make dinner fast, remember this recipe.

These tacos look so simple yet flavorful. Corn tacos are my favorite so I love the fact that this recipe uses them as well.
