Mangonada (Mango Chamoyada)

A Mangonada (mango chamoyada) is a yummy frozen treat that mixes mango, lime, and chamoy. This Mexican favorite delivers a touch of spice to cool you down on hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mango (ripe, chopped)
  • 1 lime juice
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup mango juice
  • ¼ cup fresh mango cut into small chunks for topping optional
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup chamoy sauce
  • 3 teaspoon Tajin

Instructions

  • Pour 2 tablespoon of chamoy to one small plate and 2 teaspoon tajin into another plate.
  • Rim your glass with chamoy and dip in the tajin until the rim is coated completely.
  • To a blender, add the chopped ripe mango, sugar, mango juice, lime juice and ice cubes.
  • Blend until smooth and slushie/smoothie consistency.
  • Place a tablespoon of fresh diced mango and a drizzle of chamoy into your glass.
  • Then add the frozen mango mixture.
  • Finish by adding small chunks of mango and a sprinkle of Tajin or chamoy.

Notes

Mango juice is also called mango nectar.
To use frozen mango, thaw slightly before blending. 
2 (12-ounce) mangoes will make about 2 cups of fruit.
