Ingredients

  • 3 ounces silver tequila
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur (cointreau)
  • 2 slices jalapeno
  • pineapple chunks (garnish)
  • Tajin (for rim of glass)
  • Lime (for rim of glass)
  • Ice
  • jalapeño slices (garnish)

Instructions

  • Pour Tajin (or chile powder) on a small plate.
  • Rub lime all over the rim of a glass.
  • Press the rim into the Tajin until well coated.
  • Place 2 jalapeno slices into a cocktail shaker.
  • Using a muddler, muddle the jalapeno slices.
  • Add the tequila, pineapple juice, orange liqueur, and ice.
  • Add ice to prepared glass.
  • Pour the margarita into the glass.
  • Garnish with more jalapeno slices and pineapple chunk.

Notes

Swap out Tajin for regular chile powder, salt, or sugar.
Bring down the heat by only using one jalapeno slice instead of two.

How to Make a Pitcher:

Let's say you get ten glasses of 10-ounce servings per pitcher. Use 2 cups of silver tequila, 1 ¼ cup pineapple juice, ⅔ cup orange liqueur, and 1 sliced jalapeno. Muddle the jalapeno with some of the pineapple juice. Pour the jalapeno mixture into pitcher along with the rest of the ingredients. Stir and serve into prepared glasses with ice.
