Strawberries (cut in quarters) sugar water ice (as needed)
In a medium saucepan or large stockpot, combine sugar, and water.
Add the chopped strawberries. With a potato masher or hand blender, mash the strawberries slightly and let it simmer.
Fill your blender or food processor about halfway with ice cubes. Pulse until the ice is shaved and crushed. It should resemble snow.
Transfer the ice to cups. Pack it in tightly. Prepare your serving glasses with crushed ice. Pack the ice all the way to the top.
Next, pour the sweet syrup over the ice. As an option, top off your raspados with small pieces of strawberry.
Since you can control the amount of sugar you add, you can make it as sweet or as light as you prefer, suiting everyone’s taste buds and dietary needs.
