Jalapeño and Cheese Tamales

INGREDIENTS

Corn husks Water Prepared Masa Pickled Jalapeño slices can Shredded Oaxaca cheese or Monterrey Jack

Prepare the corn husks

Soak the corn husks in warm water until pliable. Overnight is best.

Prepare the filling

The filling for these tamales are pickled jalapeños and cheese slices.

Assemble

Get a corn husk and apply a thin layer of masa. Add your filling. Fold each side inward, then fold the corner end in and set aside.

Place in a steamer and cook

Add water to the steamer. Place the tamales open side up. Steam until the masa removes easily from the corn husk.
