Butter Piloncillo grated Vanilla Baking soda Ground cinnamon Orange zest Salt Ground anise Ground cloves Eggs All-purpose flour Molasses Water
Cream the butter, scrape down the sides, and add the grated piloncillo, spices, and orange zest. Mix to combine.
Add the eggs and molasses. Then, add the flour little by little until a small dough forms.
Divide the dough into two. Place the dough pieces in the center of a plastic wrap. Wrap to form a small disk, and repeat with the second dough. Place the dough pieces in the fridge for 2 hours.
Remove the dough from the fridge. Dust with flour, roll out and cut out.
Place the cut-out piggy cookies on a baking sheet and brush them with egg wash. It is made with a combination of egg and water.
Preheat the oven and bake. Once they are ready, place them on a wire rack to cool. The piggy cookies need to cool completely before eating.
