Hatch Chile Salsa Verde


Tomatillos Onion diced Garlic Water Roasted hatch chiles finely chopped Cilantro chopped Salt

Boil the sauce ingredients


In a large stockpot, add tomatillos, onion, garlic, and water. Cover and bring to a boil. Turn heat off and let sit. Discard water and let cool.

You can buy a molcajete at just about any Mexican grocery store, or buy one online (Affiliate).  They come in different shapes and sizes.


Blend the ingredients


In a large blender, add all ingredients and blend until smooth. If using a molcajete, blend the tomatillos, onions, and garlic individually. Taste for salt.



This is an easy appetizer, or you can use it as a base for a main dish like Chicharrón en Salsa Verde. Hope you enjoy!
