Carne Asada Torta

INGREDIENTS

For the Marinade: Flank steak (or flap steak) Lime juice Ground cumin Ground oregano Garlic clove Salt Ground pepper Olive oil For the Sandwich: Bread rolls sliced in half Mayonnaise Avocado Onion Cilantro Jalapeno Lettuce Tomato

Marinate the beef with the marinade ingredients in a resealable bag for 1 hour or up to overnight.

Cook the meat in a grill pan or on the grill until done. Let the meat rest before chopping it into small pieces.

Place the avocados in a bowl and sprinkle with salt. Mash until smooth.

Let the meat rest slightly before slicing. Prepare all the remaining ingredients to assemble.

Slice the roll in half. Smear the top bun with mayonnaise and the bottom half with the mashed avocado. Add the sliced steak, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, and jalapeno slices. Top with the other half.
