Flour Salt Butter Ice Water Peeled and diced apples Sugar Ground cinnamon Ground cloves Egg Water
Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add the butter.
Cut in the butter and slowly add water. Only add the water necessary to make the dough.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap. Place in the fridge. Minimum 1 hour.
In a large skillet, add butter, Granny smith apples, sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. Cook on medium heat and add the flour.
Remove skillet from heat. Let the apples mixture cool completely.
Take a small ball of pie dough. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough on a floured surface and make a circle. Add the apple pie filling. Fold over.
Using a fork, seal the edges. Do this around the empanada, make a half circle.
Brush with egg wash. Make a few slits in the center of the empanada and bake.
