Tamarind pods Water Sugar
Start by removing the shells from the tamarind pods, then place them in a pot and cover them with water. Bring to a boil. Then let cool.
Strain the Tamarindo, separate the membranes and the seeds from the mushy flesh and push out the juice. Add the juice to a blender.
Blend until smooth, and add water with the tamarind juice to a large pitcher. Add sugar to taste and mix to combine.
Pour the Agua de Tamarindo into a cup with lots of ice. It goes great with any of your favorite Mexican recipes.
