Treasure Map Pizza

My son is obsessed with pirates. Naturally, we had to have a pirate-themed birthday party. It was easy to think of snacks and drinks, but what was I going to make? It had to be kid friendly, yummy, and quick to make.

Walmart fridge section

I went up and down the aisles at Walmart, scratching my head. I was feeding a bunch of kids, and my Little Red can be so picky. When I hit the pizza section, I had a brilliant idea. We live on Coronado Island by the beach. It’s a pirate birthday party. It’s the summer. I picked up the DIGIORNO® Design A Pizza™ Kit, DIGIORNO® RISING CRUST® Pizza, and the pizzeria!

DiGiorno Pizza boxes

When I got home, I decided to use the DIGIORNO® Rising Crust to make a Treasure Map Pizza. It’s happened a couple of times where I’ve left my DIGIORNO® RISING CRUST® Pizza out. I mean, who hasn’t done that? This time, I had to leave it out on purpose so the ingredients would be easy to take off. I didn’t let it thaw out completely though. No extra toppings were added. Just what came in the box.

Slightly Thawed Out Pizza

I used the bell peppers to make the palm tree. The sausage to make the island. Olives for the road trail. Pepperoni, bell peppers, and an olive for the X to mark the spot.

Making a Treasure Map Pizza

Preheat your oven 400 degrees F. Your DIGIORNO® RISING CRUST® Pizza will cook a little faster because it’s slightly thawed out. It will only go in the oven for 14 minutes. This pizza totally blew the kids minds! They all wanted the X slice, of course. Even though I made this for a birthday party, it’s perfect for the summer. If you can’t take the kids to the beach, you can make them a beach.
