Have you been to Cabo San Lucas? Don’t worry about practicing your Spanish. Everyone speaks English there. You can even go into most shops and pay with American dollars. Souvenir shops with big, festive sombreros. Coolers of ice, cold beer for only a buck on the sidewalk. Pharmacies selling Viagra and Cialis are on every corner. Because nothing says tourism like non-prescription drugs and 10 cent postcards.
Just in case you get lost or need some guidance, you can easily find an information kiosk. FYI: These guys get a commission from the places they recommend. Christopher and I know the deal. We’ve been down this Mexican road before, but we also know they have coupons and other peso-saving offers. Sure enough, the guy we started talking to gave us a flyer for a free appetizer to The Crazy Lobster.
The Crazy Lobster is not on the main “malecon,” or waterfront walkway, of Cabo San Lucas. It’s a typical Mexican restaurant with decorative colors, a huge open grill, and tons of fresh fish from the Baja California Coast.
Can I just tell you how much I love the signs on the wall? “If you buy the cook a drink, you may get a bigger lobster.” I wonder what happens if you give him an entire bottle?!!!
Our free appetizer consisted of a choice of tortilla soup or salad. We like our greens and opted to get our veggies in. Way too many raw onions for my taste. After all, I like kissing my husband. This salad was just MEH.
Christopher ordered the sea bass, scallop, and shrimp platter. It’s served with refried beans and rice. I’m so glad he doesn’t mind sharing. If not, I would have to get really, really good at picking at his food when he wasn’t looking.
I ordered a grilled sea bass with refried beans and rice. It came with fresh tortillas and salsa. I was kinda disappointed. My fish was slightly over-seasoned, but Christopher liked his fish. Hmmmph…
To feed my taco obsession, I ordered a scallop taco with a homemade flour tortilla on the side. I could eat ten of these and only feel slightly guilty. You know what’s crazy? We did not get lobster at The Crazy Lobster. Geez, now I feel like we need to go back. LOL.

Thanks for sharing!
You so should! I love eating and traveling. The two go so well together.
We’ve been there! And I think my son has a t-shirt to prove it. 🙂
Fun memories.
Awesome! I love the ol’ t-shirt proof. 🙂
That looks SO good! I always love how you introduce us to new fun places – looks like you are having a great time too!
I had a great time! And yes, it was SO SO good.
Mmmm, now I’m hungry. Yes, his plate looks better. I would’ve totally picked off his. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t love sharing, but he’s getting used to it!
Yikes. I’m so sorry to hear that. That would be too hard for me to handle.
