I remember when I first came to San Diego. One of my first stops was Seaport Village. The memory is vague now. It was many years ago, but I still remember seeing the carousel and going into the bookstore. Seaport Village with over 60 retail stores and eateries, it has something for everyone. This week, I was invited to a VIP tour. Here is just some of what I did that day.
Upstart Crow Bookstore
It’s what a bookstore/ coffee shop should be. When you enter, you want to grab a book, sit in a chair, and drink extraordinary amounts of coffee. They have live music and poetry readings. The coffee is excellent, and they have a good selection of munchies. Funky, quaint, cozy coffee shop where everyone knows your name. Check out their WEBSITE
All things made of tin. You can’t ignore the tin lanterns hanging from the ceiling. They have other things at the store too. Tin stars, tin mirrors, tin angels. Who wouldn’t want one of these decorating their living room? Stunningly beautiful! Check them out on FACEBOOK
I am a big klutz, and Tervis figured out just what I’ve been needing. In essence, these are sippy cups for adults. They are plastic and keep your drink hot or cold. They have cool designs, college logos, or you can do custom orders. Check out their WEBSITE
Urban Girl Accessories
Here’s a store I could get lost in. They have really fun stuff for everyone. Post it notes with cool sayings, necklaces, bracelets, lotions, etc. This is a perfect place to find a unique gift for someone who has everything. Check out their WEBSITE
Village Hat Shop
LOVE this store! I love hats- Panama hats, baseball hats, cowboy hats. You name it! Do you want Walter White’s Breaking Bad hat? Yup. They got it. They have tons of big hats for opening day at the Del Mar Racetrack. There’s even a fun hat section in the back. Check out their WEBSITE
Seaport Oil, Vinegar, and Wine
Oils and vinegar and wine. Oh my! I wanted to taste all of the oils they had available. My favorite was the blood orange infused olive oil. You can go in any day and sample away. They have a pretty cool membership club. If you join, you get 2 bottles. Check their WEBSITE for more details.
Seaport Fudge Factory
Oh fudge! Which to choose? They are decadent and rich and creamy and … YUM! Fudge made fresh and daily. Now imagine that smell… MORE YUM! You could share a small piece with several people since sharing is caring and all that jazz. Does that rule apply to fudge too? Or can we make an exception? 🙂 They also have caramel apples. Check out their WEBSITE
This restaurant knows what’s up. I almost squealed when I heard this: Edgewater Grill makes their own bacon!!! Making bacon is no easy feat. That’s some serious love for the porky pork. Check out their WEBSITE
Aren’t these little drinks so cute? Finally! You can have 4 drinks, and no one will tell you anything. Edgewater Grill has an excellent cocktail selection. They have infused drinks at the bar area and local San Diego beers on tap. But who wants to sit at the bar area when you have a view of the water and Coronado (ehmmm… my home) outside.
