All the single ladies. All the single ladies. (Insert Beyonce). 😀 When I was single, I hated with a passion the Holidays because I would see all the people who I hadn’t seen all year long. The sad looks they would give me because I was still single and a single mom. Ugh!
If you’re single this time of year, I want to give you one piece of advice: Don’t settle! We all do it. We all settle at one point or another. I think it’s part of knowing what you want in life. So don’t beat up on yourself if you have or are settling. You must weed through the bad to get to the good. I weeded through A LOT of bad to get to Dr. Vogelmann, aka “the hubs.”
Before Christopher Vogelmann, I used to think the “he completes me” phrase was silly, when pigs fly, never gonna happen. Well, Babe is flying and high too. I can say with certainty that Christopher completes me like no one else. He is my love, my amigo, the man who understands my Maggie weirdness. Above it all, my son loves him. He was soooo worth the wait. It’s a very Merry Christmas indeed. It’s our first Christmas as a married couple and a little family.
Sad truth: Christopher is more of a beer and vodka man. Hey, I didn’t say the man was perfect. lol. The good thing is that he’s willing to learn even at his age. HA! I’ve started to teach Christopher about the wonderful world of wines. Smell this. Taste that. Rodney Strong Knotty Vines Zinfandel 2012 is a good wine to introduce someone who is just stepping into reds. It’s not too strong, medium-bodied with a fruity mouth. Lots of yummy berries, very jammy with beautiful cinnamon spice from the oak. A clean finish, long and simple that leaves your mouth tasting like blackberries.
Lucky for Dr. Vogelmann, I’m a bit of a cook… modestly speaking, of course. I would pair this wine with meat. A juicy steak and potato dinner or maybe for the cold weather, a hearty and warm beef stew. If you’re having a prime rib at your Christmas dinner, I would highly recommend a bottle of Rodney Strong Knotty Vines Zinfandel 2012. Cheers to the holidays! And cheers to love!
