I’m not big on doctors. Maybe it was the way I was raised. My mom would give me tecito and caldo de res when we were sick. When I found out I was pregnant, though, I didn’t play around. I went to every prenatal appointment, made sure I ate right, went for walks, and napped as much as I could. Oh, I loved my naps! When my Little Red was born, he was 9lbs 3oz. Now, he’s almost 7-years-old.
It is estimated that 25% of Hispanic women don’t receive prenatal care during the first trimester of pregnancy.
Health and wellness are not a destination but a journey full of possibilities.
