I can’t tell you how many times I have bought protein shakes thinking that I would focus on getting fit and never really stuck with it. I have always tried to be as healthy as possible with my diet, but then stray away at the first sight of chocolate. I wanted to make a protein shake that was packed with goodness but also felt like I was indulging in something. Introducing… (drum roll please) … Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Shake. Ta Da!
I got a little excited the other day when I came up with this recipe that has all of the flavors of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich but without all the added sugars… this Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Shake was just WOW!
I took a left over bag of protein shake that has been sitting in my cupboard for a couple of months now, added the cup of unsweetened almond milk, ice, strawberries, and lastly, one heaping teaspoon of peanut butter.
I blended this concoction until smooth and took a cautious gulp. Oh…. My…. Goodness! To my surprise, this Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Shake was spot on! It tasted just like peanut butter and jelly!
This is one of those recipes that you will absolutely have to test to believe. I was worried about it, but after trying it, even the rest of the family was on board! Best protein shake EVER!
Have you come up with any surprising smoothie/shake ideas lately? I would love to hear them!
