This post is for all my fellow penny pinching, wine lovers. I wanted to find a good organic wine under $10 to recommend. I hit the grocery store to see what I could find. You have no idea how challenging this was.

Green Fin $3.99
Green Fin is a Trader Joes brand. The price for this wine is definitely right. However, Green Fin is not something I can honestly recommend. I will literally hold my tongue here. I will have to leave it up to you to go in and buy yourself a bottle. If you enjoy it, let me know. I love most Trader Joes products, but this was not pleasing to my particular palate. Maybe you will like it. Scale: 2
Trader Joes- Sauvignon Blanc $5.99
I almost didn’t drink this wine because of my experience with Green Fin. Luckily, I liked this a lot better. It’s extremely affordable. Don’t expect it to WOW you. It is light in color and easy to drink. Like all whites, this sauvignon blanc needs to be chilled. The bouquet is citrusy and floral. I would buy this again for my next fish dinner. Scale: 5
Dynamic White Table Wine $6.99
A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Chardonnay from California. The bouquet is more on the Sauvignon side, smells of pineapple and less apple and pear. The different fruit is more noticeable in the finish. Oddly enough, what I didn’t like about this wine was the finish. It is too acidic for my taste. For the price, though, it is not bad. I would pair this with fish or a fabulous cheese platter. I have a mad love for manchego. Just wish my jeans loved it as much as I do. Scale: 6
Cal Naturale Chardonnay $7
I know what you’re going to say: “It’s boxed wine. It must be bad.” But I’m here to tell you the opposite. Somewhere in my head, I heard all of you gasp in astonishment. Boxed wine is eco-friendly, easily transportable, and cheaper. Did I mention you also get more wine in boxed wines? Ahhh… Now, I’ve got your attention! It comes in different sizes: half litres and full litre containers. The question is: how does it taste? This chardonnay is light and peachy. It would go great with chicken. Under $10, the half liter chardonnay would be my choice. Half liter $7. Liter $13

Cal Naturale Cabernet Sauvignon $7
The bouquet on this cabernet sauvignon is strong of mixed berry. There are gentle, soft tannis. The finish is dry but not overpowering. I would love to have this with some BBQ ribs or a big, thick steak. If you aren’t convinced of my recommendation for boxed wine, you’re just gonna have to trust me. Let me know what you think. I’m all ears. Half liter $7. Liter $13.

Our Daily Red $8.99
There is a strong cherry or black fruit flavor in this cabernet sauvignon. The color is a deep garnet and beautiful to smell. I liked that it is smooth and considerably light. A light red? That’s right, folks. LIGHT. The finish is dry and would be perfect with a nice lamb dinner. There are no detectable sulfites in this wine. That means they didn’t add any sulfites and some guy at a lab certified that the wine contains SO2 concentrations less than 10 parts per million. (Yes, I had to look that up). Under $10, this would be my choice of organic red wines. Prices vary from store to store. This was what it cost at my local grocery store. Feel comfortable taking it to a friend’s house. Scale: 10
