Disclosure: BevMo sent me Distillery No 209 gin for editorial purposes, but all opinions are my own.
My dad lives in Mexico and a diabetic. I remember him drinking as a kid, but he has to be very careful with alcohol now. When I received this box of goodies with Distillery No 209 gin, I had to make the sacrifice and drink a few Father’s Day cocktails for him. 😉
Raspberry Spice
Ingredients:
2oz. No 209 Gin
.75 oz Lemon Juice
.75 oz Simple Syrup
3 Raspberries
Large piece of Jalapeno
Directions:
Muddle raspberries with lemon juice, simple syrup and gin. Add jalapeno. Shake over ice. Garnish with raspberry and jalapeno slices.
This is totally my kind of cocktail. It’s spicy, but not too spicy. It’s sweet, but not overly sweet. And with the Distillery No 209 gin, it is not strong at all. Yum!
Southside:
Ingredients:
2 oz No 209 Gin
1 oz. Simple Syrup
.75 oz Lime Juice
3 oz. Club Soda
2 Mint Sprigs
Directions:
Muddle mint with lime juice and simple syrup. Add gin and shake. Strain into a glass. Top with soda water and garnish with mint sprig.
A cocktail for mint lovers. The bright, clean gin goes so well with the lime juice. This a refreshing cocktail for hot summer nights or for a special dad on Father’s Day.
Distillery No 209
They take their gin seriously even down to the water they use. Their water is snow-melt from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Most gin is made from concentrated gin that is cut down with water and alcohol. That’s not the case with No.209. They distill the spirit five times. Light in taste, delicate, bright, and not bitter.
“A new gin that honors the traditions of pot distillation of old, but with a flavor profile that meets the demands of the 21st century.” -Distillery No 209
