Agua de Jamaica, or Hibiscus Tea, is easy-to-make and always refreshing. Sweet and tart, this drink goes well with just about any Mexican dish.
  • 12 cups of water
  • 1 ½ cups dried Jamaica flowers (or hibiscus, or flor de Jamaica)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Mint (for garnish)
  1. Boil 4 cups of water.
  2. Add the jamaica flowers and sugar.
  3. Return to boil for 10 minutes.
  4. Turn off heat and cover.
  5. Let cool.
  6. Strain the flowers, pressing down to extract as much water as possible.
  7. Add remaining water.
  8. Garnish with mint.
  9. Add more sugar if needed.
  10. Enjoy!
