One small step for mankind, one giant leap for CHOCOLATE. This all-chocolate astronaut sculpture stands firmly by the entrance of the All Chocolate Kitchen in Geneva, Illinois. The kid in me really, really wanted to touch it. But, I was afraid they wouldn’t abide by the Geneva Convention, and I would be forced to work in chocolate rehabilitation camp.
Geneva, Illinois is a charming town with Victorian houses, colorful tulips, and painted fire hydrants. Micro-breweries on every other corner for those blistering cold winter Chicago nights. Off the main street is where Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory meets small town USA. The All Chocolate Kitchen by the chocolate master Chef Roby will make the kid in you go “Oooh” and “Ahhhh” and “Gimme! Gimme!”
“I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.” – Dr. Seuss.
I don’t want to talk to this tree, I want to EAT IT! It’s made out of over 1,200 lbs. of chocolate. No, not kidding. If you bite it, you pay for it. No touchy touchy. No munchy munchy. (insert sad face)
After all this chocolate gawking, tell me you aren’t craving a little chocolate? I opted for the Boston Cream Pie. Soft and moist cake and creamy center. Delicious and not too sweet. Totally lick-worthy plate.
We also grabbed a few of these truffles to go. They have different fillings from bacon to vodka. That’s right. I said BACON. The All Chocolate Kitchen definitely knows how to feed my chocolate obsession.
So who is this chocolate genius who makes all the girls drool? Chef Roby holds 2 Guinness World Records. One for the largest chocolate sculpture and another for the world’s longest candy cane. You might have seen him on the Food Network or everywhere else TV food related. PS. They also offer other goodies like baked goods and small bites.
