Yes, RAW.
Kinda like eggnog that is also made with raw eggs.
Sometimes, a banana is added and dusted off with ground cinnamon.
Growing up, this was my breakfast on many, many mornings. I’ve even seen it offered at restaurants as a breakfast option.
Delicious! Sure to hit the spot on busy mornings.

Ingredients
The banana is totally optional but commonly used.
Other additions and variations include a splash of vanilla and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for garnish.
Raw Eggs:
Disclaimer: Eggs in Mexico are grown differently. In fact, in many Mexican grocery stores, they are not refrigerated.
Some raw eggs contain Salmonella which can cause diarrhea, fever, cramps, and vomiting.
Eating raw eggs can be safe if they come from the right source.
If you are opposed to eating a raw egg or are pregnant, simply OMIT from the recipe.
- To a blender, add the banana, Chocomil, milk, and raw egg.
- Blend until smooth.
Here, we are using the traditional Chocomil powder mix. It can be hard to find.
You can also use Nesquik, or just about any chocolate milk powder of your liking.
Some restaurants make this Mexican chocolate drink in an old fashioned milkshake mixers. Since many of us don’t have one at home, a blender works fine too.
Above is a Nutribullet, and it’s very convenient. It comes with several cups like this for easy blending.
It’s ideal for smoothies like Cactus Smoothie, Berry Banana Smoothie, and Tropical Mango Smoothie.
The recipe is for 1 smoothie. Adjust the measurements to make several.
You and your kids are going to love Chocomil. It is a sweet drink that’s just the right treat.

This was delicious! I freeze half bananas, so I used half a frozen banana, my own homemade chocolate mix (1/3 cup cocoa powder, 2/3 sugar and a pinch of salt) milk, a splash of whipping cream, about 2 T of cooled coffee and the raw egg. Amazing! Filled me up too!

Such a controversial thing, right? I’ve never gotten sick. I left it in there because I know someone is going to say, “Le falto el huevo.” jajaja!
